St. Basil and St. Menas Church in Assenovgrad/Stenimachos. The church is dedicated to two saints, because probably the old church from Byzantine times was dedicated to one of them, and later, during the Ottoman era, it was rebuilt and dedicated to another saint. This is a common practice in the Philippopolis area. Here we see brilliant frescoes from the early 19th century, as well as a wonderful wooden temple. The church is currently being restored by specialists from Museum of the city. It also houses a miraculous icon of St. Basil the Great. It houses also relics of the saints.
